Province of Siena
The city of Siena is one of the principal Tuscan cities because of its historical and artistic importance, proud rival of Florence during the Middle Age; twice a year Siena hosts the famous Palio, a horse race during which the horses representing the 17 contradas cover three times, ridden bareback, Piazza del Campo. One of its provinces is Chianti, which is of a great wine and landscape interest, from which vines is produced one of the most vintage wines of Italy.
