In the Natural, Artistic, and Cultural Park of Val d'Orcia and right in front of Pienza right, stands the beautiful hill Lucignanello where, on its summit, at 470 meters above sea level, you can admire an ancient fortified solitary farm that has been there since the Middle Ages.
From here, one has a 360 ° vast and varied view of the landscape: the profile of Pienza, the imposing silhouette of Mount Amiata, the castle of Montichiello .... a breathtaking view.
The organic-based agritourism has extended, for over 20 years, across approximately 99 hectares.
We grow olive trees, durum wheat, barley, spelt, soybeans, and corn.
In the pasture, adjacent to the woods, horses, cows, Sienese pigs, Chianina cows, and taurine cows.
In the hills of Montepulciano you can, instead, find the small vineyard of about 4 hectares, which produces grapes for the famous Vino Nobile di Montepulciano.
The Lucignanello agritourism stands on the solid rock that rises all around it and that was used to retrieve the adjacent outbuildings.
The natural and traditional materials were maintained inside the farm: brick, lime stone, and wood.
During renovation of the rooms, we tried to keep in mind the criteria of Bio Architecture.
The furniture, the wooden beams on the ceilings, and all the parts in wood have been restored and treated with water-based paints.
We offer three double rooms and one suite, along with the restaurant, which serves the best traditional Tuscan cuisine and tastings of typical organic products, upon reservation.
The agritourism can accommodate a limited number of guests, in order to provide greater quality in hospitality that, for us, means a peaceful environment where you can easily find space for relaxation and be in contact with nature. This is why we have chosen to keep the large outdoor area un-humanized and rich in native vegetation, making it accessible and usable in the most natural way possible.
